How it works
How Praxamark™ works
Read, watch and listen. Mark and cite. Own it.™ Then send it wherever you choose. You are in control at every step, and nothing leaves your computer until you press Post.
The picture shows the steps one at a time to make collecting, curating and thinking with Praxamark™ easy to follow. In practice many of them happen at the same time, and many happen without you doing anything, so you can focus on the information in front of you. Choose a step to see Praxamark’s part.
1. Read, watch and listen to it
Praxamark™ works where you already read, watch and listen: web pages, PDFs, videos and podcasts. Nothing to import or copy first; you mark it as you go (step 2a), and the citation starts the moment you open it (step 2b).
2a. Mark it
While you read, watch and listen, highlight a passage, mark the moment in a video or a podcast, and add a note, a to-do or a thought of your own. The passages you annotate are kept and cited.
Praxamark captures your own works, your words about their works, their works and an AI’s, so the record always shows whose words are whose. Tracking codes are stripped from your clips and posts, to protect the sovereignty of your work.
2b. Cite it
Citing starts as soon as you open a page or a document. While you mark it (annotating, taking notes, thinking), Praxamark creates a citation for the page or document, so you won’t lose its provenance.
Praxamark creates the citation from the source (the title and link, the author and date, the page or the moment in a video or a podcast), and you can edit it. It stays attached to every word you capture, wherever it goes later. Keeping the citation from the moment you capture something helps you manage the provenance of your work and your thoughts.
3. Own it
The work you capture (your annotations, notes and to-dos), from one source or many, goes first into your Praxamark Data Vault, on your computer, where you can seal (encrypt) it under your own key. You own it and you control it. There is no Praxamark server, and Identity Praxis never receives a copy.
Beside your marks, it records your digital exhaust: what you gave each site, the terms you agreed, the signed receipts organizations send you, the pages you visited and the trackers you met and blocked. A web space of your own can hold a copy too, but your computer comes first.
4. Send it
Because you own it, you decide what happens to it next. Send it to the tools you already use on your computer (a folder, Obsidian, Tinderbox, your reference files) or to an online endpoint (your AI twin, Zotero, a Solid pod, your team). Nothing leaves your computer until you press Post.
4b. Receive it
What you send, share or agree to can come back to you as a signed receipt: a Verifiable Credential, a consent receipt (Kantara), a MyTerms agreement, or a confirmation from your AI twin. Praxamark checks who signed it and files it in your Praxamark Data Vault, beside the digital exhaust it recorded itself, so you can see what each organization says it holds and compare.
Simulations
Try Praxamark™ without installing anything.
Each simulation plays Praxamark’s part, so you don’t need Praxamark installed. Nothing you type is stored or sent.
Best on a computer.
Highlight and post
Highlight, add a note and a To Do, pick a project, post; then see where it went and what was recorded.
StartSigning a post
Sign a post, check it as a reader would, and watch the copycat, the impostor and the forger get caught.
StartYour terms, or theirs?
Join a shop’s reading club twice: first with no terms of your own, then with your terms, at a shop that ignores them and one that accepts them. Keep a receipt either way.
MyTerms is a standard (IEEE 7012-2025) for terms that come from you: you choose them, a site agrees or declines.
Start
A simulation shows what Praxamark does; it isn’t Praxamark itself.
Built on agency and trust
Your knowledge, your identity, your choices.
Nothing in Praxamark™ acts for you without you pressing something, and every choice can be seen, undone or exported.
Provenance
Every post carries a label on every word. Your AI twin learns, post by post, to tell your thinking apart from what it read and from what another model wrote.
AI twin: Praxamark Atlas.
Privacy
No Praxamark server, no account, no analytics. Before a clip leaves your browser, a sensitive-data check finds passwords, keys, card, bank and ID numbers and asks you, or masks them.
No trackers
Tracking codes and web beacons are taken out of everything you clip and post, so a saved note never reports that it was read.
Security
What Praxamark™ holds about you stays on your own computer, where you can seal it under your own key. Releases are signed so you can check you have a genuine copy.
Ownership
You can sign what you publish under an identifier you own. Praxamark™ holds none of your data and claims none of it.
Signing: Praxamark Clip and Praxamark Atlas.
Control
You decide what is on and where each post goes. Every capability can be switched off, every highlight undone, every list exported.
Where your knowledge goes
The tools you already use.
Praxamark™ sends to your own tools, never to a Praxamark™ server.
- Notes apps on your computer, such as Obsidian and Tinderbox
- Reference files for managers such as Zotero
- Folders on your computer, email and the clipboard
- Your personal AI twin, or any endpoint you choose (Praxamark Atlas)
- Your own CRM, for the people you meet in what you read, watch and listen to (Praxamark Atlas)
Obsidian, Tinderbox and Zotero are named only to say what Praxamark™ connects to; they are trademarks of their owners.
Be among the first to use Praxamark™.
It’s in development and coming soon as a browser extension (Chrome first, then Chromium browsers, Firefox and Safari) and as apps for macOS, iOS, Windows and Android.
