In January 2026 the IEEE published MyTerms (IEEE 7012-2025). MyTerms helps you reclaim your agency. Rather than being forced to accept a site’s Terms of Service and Privacy Policy on its terms alone, you assert your terms of access: one of a small set of standard agreements, such as “use my data only to serve me, and share it with no one”. The site accepts or declines, and both sides keep a record.
Praxamark helps you assert your terms. Following the standard, Praxamark asserts them to every site that supports MyTerms, before you share anything. Here are two simulations at Northwind Books:
